Bodywork is a huge umbrella term for anyone that practices healing with their hands. This could be:
Chiro, physio, osteo, massage therapist, reiki
So, what makes massage different?
Massage is the only one out of all of these where the practitioner is hands-on the entire time. That consistency of touch is unmatched, creating a close client-practitioner relationship. Chiro is more bone and joint focused. Physio is more exercise focused. Osteo somewhere in between chiro, physio, massage. And reiki is energy work which could really use its own umbrella but it may have a combination of soft touch in combo with frequency healing.
If you’ve ever been curious which one will work best for you, sometimes its unclear and sometimes the variety of individual skill and style is so vast that it might actually just line up better to find a practitioner that resonates well.
